Interested in being a Foundation Board Member?
The SCMGF Board members are engaged, energetic volunteer leaders committed to helping support and strengthen our presence within our home gardener community. Foundation members, who are all Skagit County MGs, play a variety of roles and are community leaders, planners, stewards, fund raisers, philanthropists, designers, gardeners, or technology savvy warriors — all passionate about gardening.  If you are honest, creative, take responsibility, can follow through, work well with people, are tolerant of differing viewpoints, and have skills or can open community doors — you have what it takes!  Contact our President, Deborah Smeltzer at email: das@dkingsbu.net or any Board member to get involved.

Foundation members do not have to be a member of the Board to serve on Committees.

The SCMGF Board meets on the second Monday of each month via Zoom. Meetings generally start at 9:30 AM and last about two hours. Board meeting attendees include 11 elected members of the board eligible to vote an any matters brought to the board. In addition, attendees include ex officio (non-voting) members: WSU Extension Director, Skagit County MG Program Coordinator, Discovery Garden Co-Managers, Skagit County representatives to MGFWS, COEC Chair, and Recruitment & Retention Committee chair. Other MG Program committees are represented by elected board members that serve as liaisons to our various programs.

All Foundation members are invited to attend monthly board meetings that are held the second Monday each month at 9:30 AM with a few exceptions (May & October). To get a copy of the agenda, please contact Board President Deborah Smeltzer (email: das@dkingsbu.net)

Annual Meeting
The SCMGF shall hold an all members meeting at least once annually. Notice of the meeting shall be made at least 30 days prior to the meeting.
